Dr Wei Wei works as an associate professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Macao Polytechnic University. He is the program coordinator of PhD in Educational Technology and Innovation. He obtained his Ph.D. degree at the School of Education, University of Leeds, UK. Previously, he had worked at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Saigon Campus, Macau University of Science and Technology. His research areas include computer-assisted learning, distance education, learning-oriented assessment practice, and teacher professional development.
Dr. Kohnke's research focuses on technology-supported teaching and learning, and teacher professional development with emerging technologies. His is a top 2% most-cited scholar in the field of education in 2024. He has contributed over 60 articles to leading journals such as Computers and Education: Artificial Intelligence, Educational Technology & Society, Education and Information Technologies, ReCALL, SYSTEM, and RELC Journal. His diverse teaching areas include integrating technology into language classrooms, AI in education, teacher training, and English language teaching methodologies.

Dr. Sherif Welsen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), where he has been a committed academic leader and educator since 2013. A champion of student success and academic innovation, Dr. Welsen currently serves as the Campus Lead Senior Tutor and has held the role of Faculty Senior Tutor since 2017, steering institutional efforts to enhance student advising, engagement, and holistic development. Recognized for his excellence in teaching and academic leadership, Dr. Welsen is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and the first member of the University of Nottingham to be acknowledged by the UK Advising and Tutoring (UKAT) with the distinction of Recognised Senior Advisor (RSA). His contributions to student learning were further honored with the Lord Dearing Award in 2019. An interdisciplinary scholar and founder of the Science and Engineering Education Research Group at UNNC, Dr. Welsen has played a pivotal role in shaping the faculty’s teaching and learning strategies. From 2017 to 2021, he served as both Deputy Director and Director of Teaching and Learning, leading curriculum design, pedagogical innovation, and the integration of research into teaching practice. Dr. Welsen’s academic journey spans multiple continents. Prior to joining UNNC, he held research and teaching appointments in Egypt and China, including roles as a scientist in Shenzhen, assistant professor in Cairo, and associate lecturer and researcher from 2004 to 2010. He holds a master’s degree from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University. His research bridges technical and pedagogical domains, with contributions to emerging wireless technologies, location estimation, digital chip design, and advanced coding techniques. He also leads pioneering work in engineering education, exploring digital transformation in learning, blended pedagogy, and the impact of AI on assessment and academic integrity. With a global perspective and a future-facing mindset, Dr. Welsen continues to push the boundaries of engineering education through research, innovation, and dedicated academic service.
Syahrul Nizam Junaini is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), and a Research Fellow at the Data Science Center and Centre for Spatially Integrated Digital Humanities (CSIDH), UNIMAS. Formerly the Deputy Director (Learning Technology) at the Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia, he is a recipient of the Malaysia National Academic Award (2017). He is a member of Malaysia National AI Office (NAIO) working group for AI talent and an expert member for Strategic AI Group for Education (SAGE-AI), UNIMAS. He published more than 50 papers indexed in Scopus. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences in India, Japan, China, and Indonesia.
Dr. Catherine Cheng possesses a Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from The University of Hong Kong as well as a Postgraduate Diploma of Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr Cheng has worked as a secondary school teacher for a number of years. In 2004, she joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong as Research Officer, participating in the research project of Quality School Improvement. After switching to tertiary education, she taught Chinese Language and Putonghua to various levels of students. At this institution, she teaches Use of Chinese to the students in the Foundation Programme.
Dr Mariam Mohamad is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang Malaysia. Her research interest is in the field of mobile learning and mobile assistive technology. Dr Mariam was acknowledged as one of the pioneers from Malaysia in mobile learning research, in the book entitled Mobile Learning in Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific Region published by Springer. Her work also referred by UNESCO in the publication entitled; Turning on Mobile Learning: Illustrative Initiatives and Policy Implications. Dr. Mariam has extensive experience in disseminating her work internationally. She actively involves presenting her work in international conferences with ISI Web of Science and SCOPUS indexed status. She was invited by UNESCO to present her work in Mobile Learning Week 2014 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. She was also invited by ICEMT 2018 to give her speech in Okinawa, Japan and IMLF2018 in Singapore. In 2019, she was invited by ICEDU2019 in Kuala Lumpur as a plenary speaker and forum panelist. She also attended ICEMT 2019 in Nagoya, Japan as a plenary speaker. In 2020 she was invited as a keynote speaker for IMRC 2020 in Philipines. In 2021, she contributes as the keynote speaker in TEL 2021, plenary speaker in ICSE 2021 and also as invited speaker for ICEEL 2021. Recent contribution was as invited speaker in ICEPS 2023 and ICLLL 2023. For her success in the field, she was awarded with international grants which include Sumitomo Foundation and Japan Foundation to support her research in mobile assistive technology. For the community, she also devoted her time as the Advisor for Special Need Students Association, University Sains Malaysia. She is also a committee member for Research & Development Unit, Malaysian Association for The Blind.
